The octopus measures approximately 16" square, and he's made from a type of glass called "True Dichroic", which is made by Youghiogheny Glass in Connellsville, PA. The cool thing about the "true dichro" is that is has a luminescence to it that transcends the look of normal stained glass. He is, of course, a one-of-a-kind piece, although I have made several octopi from the pattern (called a "cartoon" within the stained glass industry) I drew up a few years ago. The wooden frame is poplar, which has been sealed with 3 coats of polyurethane. The frame features a hanging hook at each of the two top corners.
